This effectively offers the opportunity for FREE GARDEN DESIGN and consultancy and a substantial saving towards the cost of the project.
The Design Process
involves an on site meeting to evaluate your garden's potential and to receive your brief. At this point we will also try to establish an idea of budget. Should you decide to engage our services your existing space will be photographed and measured, after which our real work begins. At our studio the features not being retained within the new design will be removed from the photos, and painstakingly images of the trees and shrubs to the approximate scale we intend to plant along with the hard landscaping added. Effectively this provides a very close true photographic impression of the design
We then arrange a presentation together with plans and accurate transparent costings. All aspects of the works from design to completion are implemnted by our highly qualified landscapers, electicians and sub contractors.
Below please view a case study of the above process.
Case Study
The above unloved garden was remote from the house and reached via a path which runs down the side of the neighbour's back garden. Our clients commissioned us to design a garden which would give this isolated space some purpose making it an area the whole family could enjoy all year around, and essentially their two young children.
Visuals and Plan
One of the key points of our brief was to provide a trampolene for the children. This was not negoiatable and from a design prospective presented us with quite a challenge, to give the kids what they wanted without impacting on the rest of the brief, which was to create a low maintenance tropical oasis with a covered dining and recreation area. Lets face it, whilst a trampolene maybe great fun for the children, it is an undeniable eyesore. The solution settled on was to give up a corner of the garden to accomodate the 8 foot trampolene and to provide access through a grove of mature bamboo. This successfully made it almost invisible from the rest of the garden.
For the covered dining and recreation area we proposed a focal point of an African thatched bauma with circular seating and table. On cooler or showery days weatherproof blinds protect the open sides from the elements. With benefit of overhead heating this enables entertaining for much more than just the odd weekend.
The rest of the garden was dominated by a beautiful large hardwood deck bordered by a lush tropical planting of bamboo to screen the neighbours, and an array of mature palm trees and exotic shrubs highlighted with dashes of hot tropical colours. Mood lighting was added together with computerised irrigation making this once unloved garden a truly remarkable retreat to forget the rest of the world.
The Finished Garden
Other than a few fine tuning changes to the design as we went along, we hope you agree that the design visuals give a very true impression when compared to the photos of the finished garden below .
